Exciting Plans Ahead

Michael Mckeand, CEO of the Australian Veterinary Receptionist Association (AVRA), has announced exciting plans for 2023 with a new learning LMS and website, new CPD, and new professional logo which reflects the growing status of the Association.

June 2023 will see the launch of a new Foundation Course for veterinary receptionists, which will cover the structure of the profession, operational matters affecting reception, communication skills, preventative health, and more.

On the back for the success of the British Veterinary Receptionist Association (BVRA) in the UK, the Australian Veterinary Receptionist Association (AVRA) soon to launch and is the first professional body for veterinary customer care teams in Australia.

“The AVRA’s mission is to recognise and raise the status of veterinary customer care teams within the Australian veterinary profession,” AVRA co-founder Michael Mckeand said.

“The AVRA will do this by acting as a professional body to focus on the interests of veterinary customer care teams as well as evolving the role through affordable CPD and training, leading to the attainment of the Accredited Veterinary Receptionist Award.

Michael has said how impressed he has been by the standard of education and membership benefits of the BVRA offer and felt there was a genuine need and interest in replicating the BVRA model in Australia.

We very much look forward to seeing where we can take the AVRA and watch it grow and expand all across the nation.
